Abstract  

Electrospun nanofibres have shown significant potential in a number of applications such as filtration systems.  Novel electrospun ZnO/PEG/PLA nanocomposites can be prepared by the electrospinning method and used for air filtration. This filter will include antibacterial properties. The antimicrobial inactivation mechanisms of the nanofibers based on PLA, PEG and ZnO and the effectiveness of the developed antimicrobial air filter will be tested.
